In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of the top communication apps on the Android platform in Russia reflected various trends in user engagement and downloads. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the weekly dynamics of these apps.

Telegram saw a steady decline in weekly downloads, starting from 239K and dropping to 182K by the end of June. Despite this, its weekly active users remained robust, fluctuating slightly but maintaining a strong presence around 87M.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a peak in downloads at 203K in early June, followed by a gradual decline to 136K by the end of the quarter. However, active user numbers remained stable around 88M throughout the period.
